BENZONITRILE
Chemical Structure
Benzonitrile was traditionally produced by two-step reactions; first, benzoic acid was made from toluene under liquid phase oxidation, and then, benzoic acid was oxidized with ammonia to produce benzonitrile.
NIPPON SHOKUBAI developed original method of benzonitrile production "vapor phase catalytic ammooxidation" which was direct reaction of toluene and ammonia and started commercial production in 1964. NIPPON SHOKUBAI's original method enabled to supply inexpensive benzonitrile.
NIPPON SHOKUBAI is the world largest manufacturer for benzonitrile, and supplies high-quality benzonitirile continuously.
