Nippon Shokubai began producing automotive catalysts in 1974. This was at a time when environmental protection was starting to gain widespread attention as an important social issue. Since then, catalyst technology has played the key role in our activities in the environment & catalyst business, and environmental products have come to occupy an important position in our overall lineup. The innovations we introduced include De-NOx catalysts for NOx removal, catalysts for waste gas treatment and waste water treatment, catalytic dioxins decomposition and removal systems, and also, electrolyte materials crucial to the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC), a promising clean energy source. All of these products have been highly evaluated by our customers.
