NIPPON SHOKUBAI CO., LTD. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Kazuhiro Noda; hereinafter \u201cNippon Shokubai\u201d) has been certified its biodiversity preservation and restoration activity, the \u201cNippon Shokubai \u2013 Yugawara Myriad Leaves Forest,\u201d as a \u201cNature Symbiosis Site\u201d under the Regional Biodiversity Enhancement Act by the Ministry of the Environment on September 16, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cNature Symbiosis Site\u201d designation refers to areas where biodiversity is effectively conserved through private sector initiatives. This certification system was launched in FY2023 to support the achievement of the \u201c30by30\u201d target, which aims to effectively conserve more than 30% of terrestrial and marine areas as healthy ecosystems by 2030. From FY2025 onward, areas designated under the Regional Biodiversity Enhancement Act are also eligible for certification as Nature Symbiosis Sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the \u201cNippon Shokubai \u2013 Yugawara Myriad Leaves Forest,\u201d since November 2013, we have been conducting forest conservation such as tree planting, thinning, and pruning, water source maintenance, and nature observation events in the water source conservation forest upstream of the Niizaki River in Yugawara Town as part of our activities to preserve and restore biodiversity. We believe this certification resulted from our continuous employee volunteer activities, with the cooperation of local governments, NPOs, and other organizations, as well as the recognition of the site’s value as a healthy ecosystem supporting diverse native plants and animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
