Going forward, we will promote activities that include ensuring that risks are thoroughly communicated and confirming the implementation status of countermeasures.<br>In process safety and disaster prevention, we systematically conducted a range of training programs, including initial response emergency drills, overall drills, joint drills with the fire department, and initial fire extinguishing training under the guidance of the fire department, to enhance our disaster preparedness. In addition, to prevent the fading of the lessons learned from the accident that occurred at the Himeji Plant in FY2012, we invited external lecturers to conduct disaster prevention training.<br>In environmental protection, we have maintained a 100% waste recycling rate. We are also continuing to promote energy conservation measures, such as the efficient operation of equipment. We will continue to engage in RC initiatives with the aim of achieving sustainable and safe research activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Safety Lecture at the Environmental and Safety Convention<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Suita Research Center, the Environmental and Safety Convention was held on July 3, 2025, as part of the activities for National Safety Week.<br>On the day of the event, a lecturer from the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association (JISHA) was invited to give a presentation on measures for the prevention of liquid contact and exposure in the working environment, as well as on responses to heat illness, which has been increasing in recent years.<br>In particular, the lecturer clearly explained, using practical examples, the key points of the amendments to the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health that came into effect on June 1, 2025, with a focus on the provisions related to the prevention of severe heat illness or heat stroke, as well as specific methods for prevention and early response at worksites.<br>Through this convention, participants further heightened their awareness of safety and gained valuable insights toward improving the working environment in the future. By applying the knowledge gained from this event, we will continue to strive to create a safer and healthier workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shokubai.co.jp\/en\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/G-4-6_2606_Suita_Safety-Convention-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21284\" style=\"width:300px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.shokubai.co.jp\/en\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/G-4-6_2606_Suita_Safety-Convention-300x182.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.shokubai.co.jp\/en\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/G-4-6_2606_Suita_Safety-Convention.jpg 670w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Safety lecture<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GMP<sup>*2<\/sup> Initiatives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-2 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>The SGP plant, which began operations at the Suita Research Center in 2019, is intended for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for middle-molecule drugs, a new type of product, including those for investigational use, and is operated under GMP control.&nbsp;Middle molecule drugs are a new modality expected to be applicable for various diseases, due to its high specificity to the target molecule.&nbsp; It is considered to have significant potential in various areas.<br>As a manufacturer of API for this promising modality, we pursue reliable high quality of our products as well as operational safety in the manufacturing plant, so that reliable pharmaceutical products can be provided which can be used with peace of mind.
