Progress on Digital Transformation Initiatives ??

At Nippon Shokubai, we have formulated our long-term vision for 2030, “TechnoAmenity for the Future,” which outlines our aspirations for the future. To realize this vision, we are driving three key transformations:

1. Business transformation

2. Strategic Transformation for Environmental Initiatives

3. Organizational transformation

As one of the core strategies to promote these transformations, we have positioned Digital Transformation (DX) as a critical initiative. In April 2022, we established the DX Promotion Division, which plays a central role in leading, supporting, and coordinating DX strategies across all departments.

Over the past two years, our main initiatives have included:

1 Production Division:
We have begun integrating plant operation data and optimizing production planning, which has led to improved operational efficiency. We are now entering the next phase, aiming to implement predictive maintenance, advanced production control, and ultimately achieve energy savings and CO₂ emission reductions.

2 Sales Division:
To deliver greater value to our customers, we have introduced a sales support system that centralizes customer requests and manages potential leads. This system is now in active use.

3 Human Resource Development for DX:
To make DX a shared language across the company and foster talent capable of utilizing data and digital technologies, we have launched a DX talent development program.
Details are; phase1- Completed training for all employees.
Phase2- Completed training program primarily targeting managerial-level employees, with participation from more than half of our employees.
Phase3- Currently offering specialized training in project management and data analysis for employees who wish to deepen their expertise.

Looking ahead, we will continue to promote DX across all business areas—including R&D, production, sales, and administrative functions—while also enhancing the development of talent to support the expansion of Solutions Business and the strengthening of Materials Business.
