Introduction

NIPPON SHOKUBAI CO., LTD. and its group companies (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Nippon Shokubai Group”) hereby establish and comply with this Social Media Policy (the “Policy”) concerning the operation of official social media accounts. Users are requested to review this Policy before using the Nippon Shokubai Group’s official social media accounts.

1. Basic Philosophy on Social Media

The Nippon Shokubai Group uses social media (“SNS”) as a communication tool to accurately and sincerely convey the value of the Nippon Shokubai Group to stakeholders worldwide, to build trust-based relationships, and to enhance corporate value and employee engagement.

Official SNS Accounts of the Nippon Shokubai Group
The Nippon Shokubai Group currently operates the following official SNS accounts:

2. Purpose of SNS Use

This Policy applies to the following persons when operating SNS as official accounts of the Nippon Shokubai Group:

  • Employees of the Nippon Shokubai Group
  • Other parties authorized to operate official accounts based on the Nippon Shokubai Group’s policies

The following principles shall apply to the operation of the Nippon Shokubai Group’s official SNS accounts:

  • Maintaining the Position of a Corporate Account: The Nippon Shokubai Group shall ensure that personal opinions or unofficial views of employees are not misconstrued as the Nippon Shokubai Group’s official views.
  • Respect for Professionalism and Reliability: Based on the Nippon Shokubai Group’s emphasis on technology, quality, safety, and stable supply, careless expressions or misleading communications shall be avoided.

5. Content Guidelines

Permissible Content:

  • Publicly disclosed information regarding products, technologies, and businesses
  • Information on exhibitions, events, and public relations activities
  • Initiatives related to sustainability and environmental contributions
  • Recruitment and human resource-related information
  • Officially announced press releases

Prohibited Content:

  • Confidential information regarding undisclosed research and development, products, or other matters
  • Information related to customers or business partners (excluding content disclosed with their consent)
  • Information that violates contractual confidentiality obligations
  • Undisclosed financial results or information that may affect investment decisions
  • Personal information or content that infringes on privacy

6. Handling of Comments and Responses

  • The Nippon Shokubai Group does not guarantee responses to all comments or posts.
  • Technical inquiries or matters related to transactions should be directed to the designated inquiry channels.

7. SNS Operation and Management Structure

  • Official SNS accounts of the Nippon Shokubai Group are operated collaboratively by the Marketing Strategy Department, Corporate Communications Department, and relevant Nippon Shokubai Group companies.
  • Posted content shall be disseminated after confirmation in accordance with the Nippon Shokubai Group’s internal approval processes.
  • In the event of emergencies or incidents with significant social impact, the Nippon Shokubai Group shall respond carefully and promptly in cooperation with relevant departments.

8. Disclaimer

  • The Nippon Shokubai Group does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of information disseminated through its official SNS accounts. Users are requested to view and use such information with this understanding.
  • Information disseminated through the Nippon Shokubai Group’s official SNS accounts does not necessarily constitute the Nippon Shokubai Group’s official announcements or views. Official announcements and statements will be made via the Nippon Shokubai website and press releases.
  • Except as required by law, the Nippon Shokubai Group shall not be liable, for any damages, disadvantages, or troubles incurred by users in connection with information disseminated through official SNS accounts or changes, updates, or other use of such accounts.
  • The Nippon Shokubai Group shall not be responsible for any disputes or conflicts arising between users or between users and third parties in connection with official SNS.
  • Due to the nature of SNS, information on official SNS accounts may be changed or deleted without notice, and accounts may be suspended or discontinued. The Nippon Shokubai Group shall not be liable for any resulting damages, losses, costs, or burdens incurred by users.
