NIPPON SHOKUBAI Announces a Change of the Name of Its Consolidated Subsidiary

NIPPON SHOKUBAI CO., LTD. [Tokyo Stock Exchange – TOKSE:4114.T] (“NIPPON SHOKUBAI”) hereby announces that its consolidated subsidiary named SHINRITSU CO., LTD. [HQ: Tokyo, Japan, President: Yoshinao Hirano] (“SHINRITSU”)　changed its name to NIPPON SHOKUBAI TRADING CO., LTD. as of April 1, 2012.

1. Background of the change
NIPPON SHOKUBAI owned 100% of SHINRITSU’s share since November 2010 to clarify its group management raised in the long-term business plan “TechnoAmenity 2015”. This change of the name, from SHINRITSU to NIPPON SHOKUBAI TRADING CO., LTD., clearly shows that the subject company is a member of NIPPON SHOKUBAI Group.
