Nippon Shokubai to Support the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

Nippon Shokubai (Headquarters: Osaka, Japan, President: Yujiro Goto, hereinafter “Nippon Shokubai”) announced that we support the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (hereinafter “TCFD*”).

Under the Nippon Shokubai Group Mission “TechnoAmenity-Providing affluence and comfort to people and society, with our unique technology,” we contribute to sustainable development through various activities such as continuously reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our business activities and also contributing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our customers’ business through our materials and solutions.

As supporting the TCFD’s recommendations, Nippon Shokubai will actively promote the disclosure of climate-related information based on the framework of the TCFD, while analyzing the financial impact on our business caused by the risks and opportunities associated with climate change.

*TCFD is the task force established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), which is comprised of members such as central banks and financial regulators of the world’s major countries and regions. Its recommendations provide a framework for voluntary basis disclosure of information on climate-related risks and opportunities.
