Polyethyleneimine ethoxylate (PN-100) is water-soluble nonionic polymer and has various characteristics below. It is widely applicable.

< Dispersibility of Particles >

PN-100 has high dispersibility of various types of particles. For example, dispersibility of natural clay and talc (magnesium silicate) is shown below.

Dipersibility performance of clay

Method:
We prepare and stir Clay water containing a predetermined amount of clay, surfactant and polymer. The clay water is transferred to a test tube and let stand for 1 hour. The absorbance was then measured. (the dispersion of clay leaves it turbid and high in absorbance)
Condition:
Surfactant(LAS) 0 or 1250ppm, Polymer 40ppm, Water hardness 15dH, Temp. 25℃

*LAS: Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonates

Dipersibility performance of talc

Method:
We prepare and stir Talc particle water containing a predetermined amount of talc and polymer. The talc water is transferred to a test tube and shook, and let stand for predetermined time. The absorbance was then measured. (the dispersion of clay leaves it turbid and high in absorbance)
Condition:
Talc 500ppm, polymer 10ppm, Ca concentration 200ppm, Temp. 25℃

< Booster for anionic surfactants >

PN-100 can improve interfacial properties of anionic surfactant by adding a small amount of it.
This effect results in usage reduction of surfactant and performance improvement.

Method:
We measure surface tension by Wilhelmy method at several concentration of surfactant.
Condition:
Surfactant 0.1 - 10 mmol/dm³, Polymer 8.3ppm, Temp. 25℃

① Addition of PN-100 to surfactant solution results in a reduction of critical micelle concentration (CMC). It means that PN-100 has the potential for usage reduction of surfactant, because most performance (cleaning, penetration) of surfactant critically changes around CMC.

② Adsorption Gibbs energy (ΔG abs) reduction shows that PN-100 promotes the adsorption of surfactant to hydrophobic surface.

< Anti-redeposition ability for laundry detergent >

PN-100 can use as a raw material for laundry detergent. PN-100 critically improves anti-redeposition ability.

Method:
A contaminated clothing and a white clothing are put into a pot and a cleaning operation is carried out. The contamination level of the white cloth is then evaluated by a color difference meter.
Condition:
Equipment targot-o-meter, Surfactant 250ppm, Polymer 8.3ppm, Water hardness 15dH, Temp. 25℃, Bath ratio 30

In terms of anti-redeposition ability, you can reduce usage of surfactants for laundry detergent. The result below shows that same performance is achieved with half dosage of surfactants.

Method:

Equipment targot-o-meter, Surfactant 125 or 250ppm (LAS:PAE = 1:1), Polymer 8.3ppm, Water hardness 15dH, Temp. 25℃, Bath ratio 30
