Basic Policy for Preventing the Misuse of Public Grants for Research

In accordance with guidelines for managing and auditing the use of public grants for research and guidelines for responding to misconduct in the course of research established by government agencies that provide competitive research funds, Nippon Shokubai implements the following measures to prevent the misuse of public funds when participating in public projects in Japan.

  • Inform research divisions of operating rules and important notes and ensure their rigorous compliance
  • Constantly monitor the status of budget execution and provide guidance as needed
  • Conduct internal audits of all evidential documents and reports before year-end reports and interim inspections by funding organizations
  • Provide compliance training, obtain commitment forms, and engage in education and awareness activities for MEXT guidelines to relevant people
  • Inform suppliers of methods of disposal and contact points for reporting problems, and request commitment forms for rule compliance
